WELCOME TO DEEP RIVER BRACCO ITALIANO
Thank you for your interest in our dogs. We are eager to share our love of the Bracco Italiano with you. Our Broccos are part of our family. We want to share this breed with the right home, a home that is interested in a versatile dog, a dog that is great in the field and even better among family.

Meet the Dam: Mia
- Mia comes from Lumpy’s Kennel, parents are Riverside’s “Quigley” and Whiskey Hills “Mae Capone”. Mia joined our family in January of 2022. Mia was chosen based on the hunting reputation of the sire; hunting ability was a key attribute we were looking for.
- Mia has had opportunities in Michigan, South Dakota, and Montana to hunt pheasant, grouse, prairie chickens, sharp tails and woodcock.
- Mia works very fast in the field but works close and recalls well. When she gets birdy, you know to get your gun ready!
- Mia is great in the house and independent when we aren’t able to give her attention. When we are able to give her attention, she enjoys attention and snuggles from Zach. She has an excellent off switch, when she is outside, she is on the move.
- Mia has a good pedigree and is healthy. She is up to date on her vaccines and has blood work competed to ensure good health. We have had her hips, elbows, and eyes tested through OFA.
Meet Enzo
Enzo came to us from DI Witingove Kennels in the Czech Republic. His pedigree has a long line of dogs from renowned Italian kennel, di Cascina Croce. This Kennel is known for putting out some very high-quality hunting Bracco Italianos. Enzo has remarkable prey drive, determination and high intelligence. Training with Bracco’s can be very difficult at times due to their soft nature and being prone to getting their feelings hurt. However, Enzo has been very easy to train and picks things up remarkably quick. In the field he is laser focused and will cover a lot of ground. Enzo likes to work close and is always checking where I am in the field to make sure he is nearby. He has one of the best noses I have ever seen. This past year he was able to go out west hunting and he did spectacular on sharptailed grouse and pheasants in South Dakota. Enzo has a lot of strong retrieving abilities as well and is looking forward to doing some force fetch training with him this summer. Enzo has a very calm demeanor and listens extremely well. It is very rare that he ever requires hearing a command more than once. Enzo is a large dog, weighing about 85lbs and still considers himself a lap dog. He is full of personality and enjoys hunting our 50 acres for anything that moves. One of his favorite pastime activities is mousing in our CRP field. Watching him hunt for mice is very comical, and he even pounces on them like a cat would. On Average he usually catch’s 1-2 mice a week and brings them up to the house just like a cat would. Squirrels are his second passion on our property. This past winter he even managed to finally catch 2 of them. When the weather warms up, I purchase a lot of quail and put them in my recall pen. Enzo and Mia both get lots of work with the quail throughout the summer to help prime them up for fall hunting season.
What to Expect
We want to make sure you have a great experience working with us. This is a big expense and a long commitment. We want to make sure all of your questions are answered before purchasing a puppy. We encourage phone calls, text messages, emails, whatever it takes to make sure you know what to expect and you have a suitable home for a Bracco puppy.
The buying process is simple. After a few discussions, when there is consensus by both parties to move forward, we will send you a copy of our contract and collect a nonrefundable deposit. When the puppies are born, we will smoother you with cute puppy pictures and videos. Near 6 weeks of age, the order in which we take deposits, you will choose your puppy. When the puppies are eight weeks of age, they will be ready to go to their forever home.
We live in Standish MIchigan. There is one hotel locally and a number of hotels within a 35-minute drive. If you are looking to make a mini break of this trip, we are happy to give you some fun suggestions of things to do near the area. You may also fly into a surrounding airport to pick up your puppy. You will find in many cases you can fly in and out the same day. If you elect to do this, we are willing to drive to the airport (airport to be discussed, most are 2 hours’ drive from our home) and we can meet you there with your puppy in your prepaid carrier. This way you can avoid hotel and car rental costs. Please be sure to plan with us before booking any travel to ensure our schedule allows us to meet you.
